Spotify’s audiobook + add-on is now available for certain premium subscribers

You may be primarily associated with music and podcasts, but if you are a premium member, you can also get 15 hours of audiobook access per month. However, for some members, this is obviously not enough, as Spotify launched a new add-on subscription that doubled listening time.
Trials were first conducted in Ireland and Canada and were initially launched for senior individuals and program members in many European countries, as well as in many countries in Australia and New Zealand. Once you add it to your existing subscription, you can also listen to the audiobooks included in Spotify’s for another 15 hours in addition to what you already have in your basic plan. For individuals, Spotify itself costs $12 per month.
For those with Premium Family ($20 per month) or two-person plan ($17 per month) plans, the plan manager must purchase the add-ons and they can also purchase a one-time top-up for 10 hours if they reset the rights each month.
Spotify does offer only one plan for customers in the United States that is different from premium products, including access to music using ads and podcasts.
Pricing for audiobook+ varies by market, but in the UK it costs £9 (about $12) per month and for personal premium plans it costs £12 (about $16). We’ll find out the price here when we arrive in the U.S., Spotify told Engadget that will happen in the “next weeks.”
