YouTube is abandoning niches that tend to use charts

YouTube is throwing away its trend pages to expand the charts into more specific categories.

According to a report from the company’s blog post, the trend list and the trend list of YouTube will be removed “in the next few weeks” and the trend list of YouTube will be replaced by more niche lists on YouTube charts.

YouTube currently has daily and weekly charts for trending music videos and artists, songs on YouTube shorts, movie trailers and podcasts. The company said the shift to other charts was due to reduced traffic to popular pages and the development of specific fans and “more micro-trends in different communities than ever before.”

Mixable light speed

“Back to our first launch of the trend page in 2015, the answer was ‘What trends?’ The YouTube post reads: “Capturing with a single list of viral videos that everyone is talking about is much simpler. ”

“Viewers are increasingly aware of trends everywhere in YouTube – from suggestions and search suggestions to shorts, comments and communities. With these shifts, we’ve seen a significant drop in access to trend pages, especially over the past five years.”

YouTube notes that it can display popular content in the charts and display personalized, algorithm-based suggestions to users, pointing to the platform’s exploration menu for people looking for dehumanized content. Custom advice drives YouTube’s future strategy, and companies will inject more and more AI tools into search.
