William arrived in September 2022 by Elizabeth, grandmother of Balmoral, Scotland, as doctors became increasingly worried about their health. His father, Camilla and other members of the royal family joined him until the palace confirmed that the queen died on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
After the Queen’s death, Charles confirmed that his eldest son was later called the Prince of Wales, a title left for the heirs. William also received the title of Duke of Cornwall, whom his father had before he ascended the throne.
“Just like my heir, William now assumes the Scottish champion that means a lot to me. He inherited the Duke of Cornwall and assumed the duties I have been in for over fifty years,” Charles said in his first speech as King. “Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, a title in this country that is very honored to bear throughout my life and during my responsibility. I know that Catherine is by his side, our new prince and Princess of Wales will continue to inspire our national dialogue and help our national dialogue and help us bring victory to the central ground.”
