Ruby and husband Kevin Franke In 2015, 8 passenger channels were opened. Initially, their content featured the couple and six children before Ruby’s friend Hildebrandt entered the photo. Ruby and Hildebrandt eventually renamed it to Mom of Truth to share more faith-based content.

Ruby and Hildebrandt were arrested in 2023 and charged on six counts. The arrest came when Ruby’s youngest son, who was then 12 years old, escaped from Hildebrandt’s home and sought help from his neighbors. Authorities have noticed that the child is malnourished and has tape on his ankles and wrists.

In December 2023, Ruby pleaded guilty to four counts of child abuse and admitted that she tortured her children. As part of her plea agreement, she agreed to serve her sentence and her sentence will last. She also agreed to testify against Hildebrand, who pleaded guilty.

How did Jody and Ruby build friendship?

Hildebrandt started working as a therapist in Utah before making connections, a program that provides marriage, parenting and life counseling, often offered to Mormons.

Ruby and Hildebrandt became friends in 2019 after they formed a connection through the church. From there, Ruby and Kevin started taking Connexions courses, but their marriage then collapsed. Ruby and Hildebrandt began to live with Ruby’s children until they were arrested.

How did Jody and Ruby get arrested?

In 2023, Ruby’s then-12-year-old son escaped Hildebrandt’s residence in August 2023 and called police to the police about his deterioration. Ruby and Hildebrandt were arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse.

Ruby and Hildebrandt pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse and were sentenced to 4 to 60 years in prison. They won’t serve for more than 30 years due to Utah law related to consecutive sentences.

Where is Ruby now?

Kevin filed for divorce from Ruby and applied for detention in 2023 after more than a year before his arrest.

Kevin agreed to consider any child support paid by Ruby. Meanwhile, Ruby was ordered not to contact the child. She also asked to keep her last name Franke instead of returning to her maiden name.

EXES agreed to transfer its Springville home to Kevin, in addition to a property in Scofield, Carbon County. Ruby will keep the $85,000 she withdraws from her financial account, but the remaining shared funds (outside of the investment account under Ruby’s name) will be handed over to Kevin completely.

Kevin and Ruby did not ask for a maintenance fee for each other.

Where is Jody now?

Ruby is currently sentenced to four to 30 years in the Utah Correctional Institution in Salt Lake City. She won’t appear before the Utah Parsal and Parole Board until December 2026, which determines the exact length of her judgment.

YouTube has banned Ruby and Hildebrandt and has removed channels related to their names. Hildebrandt’s consultation license was frozen after his arrest.

Are Ruby and Jodi still in contact?

In the recording of Ruby’s summons released a few months after her arrest, she changed her tune to Hildebrandt, saying, “It’s the weirdest, most miraculous intervention. It makes everyone need to go. It separates me from Jodi.

Hildebrandt’s prison audio was also recorded, she defended herself and said Ruby’s son “doed to herself” when discussing his serious injury.

Ruby’s case is a lifelong 2024 movie Mormon Mom’s misunderstanding: stories with Emilie Ullerup’s Ruby Franke, like Ruby and Heather Locklear and Hildebrandt. Hulu released a documentary in February 2025 with Ruby’s ex-husband and two older kids in the series – The Devil in the Family: The Devil in Ruby Franke’s Depravity.

That same month, the investigation found that Ruby and Hildebrandt were the subject of their curious case series. The network then produced Ruby & Jodi: The Worship of Sin and Influence, the cult released in September 2025.
