To this day, one of the biggest problems for Star Wars fans is how Boba Fett is defeated Return of the Jedi. What happened to the most famous bounty hunter in the galaxy, who was defeated by a blind man with his jetpack?
However, there is a fan’s theory that neatly explains his humiliating failure while making us prefer another fan favorite. According to this theory, R2-D2 spiked Boba Fett’s drink on Jabba’s sail barge, ensuring he could be easily defeated by the rebels.
First, the only reason R2-D2 and Boba Fett are close to each other is that Luke Skywalker sends his robot to Jabba as a gift. This is all part of the Jedi plan, as R2 secretly possesses Luke’s lightsaber and is able to shoot it out before the master’s execution, allowing Luke to do his best: rescue the princess and save the day. Apart from a comic or book confirmation, the idea that R2-D2 is trying to kill Boba Fett is nothing more than a fascinating fan theory. But it’s the perfect excuse to give us a re-watch while all of us respect the bounty hunter more Return of the Jedi.
