At the 2025 Miami Open in Itau, Rafael Jordahl was not even in the top 900 of the PIF ATP rankings. Twelve months on, the Spaniard is making his breakthrough at the hard-court ATP Masters 1000 event.
Jordan needed just 56 minutes to defeat Aleksandar Vukic 6-1, 6-2 in the second round at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday. The 19-year-old has dropped just one set in four matches in Miami this year (including two qualifying matches), converting four of the six break points he won on Court 5. With his impressive performance in Florida, the teenager has ensured that he will break into the top 100 of the PIF ATP Rankings for the first time on March 30: Jordahl is currently up 23 places to No. 86 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings.

Jordahl was yet to record a tour-level victory before November’s Next Gen ATP Finals, but he now has five wins in 2026 after winning main draw matches at the Australian Open in Delray Beach and Acapulco before Miami. The former University of Virginia player, who only turned pro in December, leads second-placed Joao Fonseca by 129 points in the Next Generation ATP Live event. He will face No. 29 seed Thomas Martin Echeverry in the third round. Echeverry defeated Zizou Berges 7-6(5), 7-6(3).
Hodahl was more than clinical on Saturday against Vukic in Miami. He also maintained his composure under service pressure when needed and saved all five break points he faced in his first Lexus ATP head-to-head meeting with the Australian, according to Infosys ATP Statistics.
Martin Landaluce defeated 17th seed Luciano Darderi 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-4 on Friday night, with Jordal capping off a stellar 24 hours for Spain’s #NextGenATP talent. Jordan’s fellow qualifier Landalus will face No. 14 seed Karen Khachanov for a spot in the fourth round.
