Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is investigating M&M and Skittles maker Mars to accuse the company of “deceptive and illegal practices” of using artificial dyes in its candies.

In a statement sent to Fox News, Paxton’s office will investigate with the Attorney General to become Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Paxton’s office asserted that Mars alleged false statements of artificial dyes in some of these candies, including M&MS and Skittles, constituted a deceptive trade practice for Texas consumer rights.

The Attorney General further pointed out that although Mars continues to use artificial colors in U.S. products, it stopped in Europe.

In 2016, Mars promised to remove all artificial colors from all its human foods, when it was “part of a commitment to meet evolving consumer preferences.”

The company said that while it believes that “artificial colors have no known risks to human health or safety”, it changed because “today’s consumers call on food manufacturers to use more natural ingredients in their products.”

“In this context, Mars will work closely with suppliers to find alternatives that not only meet their strict quality and safety standards, but also keep consumers energetic, interesting colors, thus expecting the company’s beloved brand.”

However, in a later update, Mars said, “In fact, many of our consumers did not find artificial colors to be a concerning ingredient” and “So we will continue to prioritize our efforts to remove Europe in Europe, and consumers express this preference among consumers – but will not remove all artificial colors from our Mars Mars thicking Portfolio.”

In a statement from Paxton, his office said: “Mars also falsely claims that ‘artificial pigments have no known risks to human health or safety’ because these dyes are already associated with many negative health outcomes, which cannot be far from the facts, including attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism and cancer.”

Paxton has issued a civil investigation request to obtain documents from Mars as part of the investigation, the statement said.

“Mars must remove toxic artificial dyes from its American food, not only respecting public commitments and ensuring that they stay on the right side of the law, but also because that’s the right choice,” Paxton said in a statement to Fox News.

“It’s clear that the movement to remove artificial pigments from our food supply is making incredible progress, and it’s time for Mars to remove its products from other companies like Nestlé and Hershey,” he continued, adding, “For the health of Texans and all Americans, Mars must fulfill its 2016 statement to make these toxic ingredients rich in these toxic ingredients. ”

Calley Men Men Mean, a senior White House adviser who made America healthy again, slammed Mars’ refusal to remove artificial pigments from its products, saying “this is common sense” and “these are petroleum-based dyes and have no nutritional value.”

This comes after Paxton conducted a similar investigation into General Mills, after which the company promised to remove artificial dyes from its products. The Texas Attorney General also charged Kellogg with alleged violation of the state’s consumer protection laws, claiming that dyes were removed from food.

Paxton is currently running for Republican Senator John Cornyn. Last week, Paxton’s wife’s 38-year-old Texas Sen. Angela Paxton announced that she had filed for divorce on “bible reasons.”
