Rugby star Ilona Maher plans for 2028 at the Paris Olympics and Los Angeles

American Football Player Ilona Maher One of the breakthrough stars in the US at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the 2028 Summer Olympics is about to compete in Los Angeles, Maher is considering whether she wants to compete.
“I want to try,” the 28-year-old athlete said. Kylie Kelce Thursday, June 12, episode of Kelce’s “Don’t Lie” podcast. “I think it’s so cool to go to the Family Olympics. That’s my goal, but I’m still trying to figure out what my love for it is.
The bronze medalist helped the United States win its first ever women’s football medal last summer and has been busy since then – not only an athlete, but a social media influencer, model and even contestant Dancing with the stars. She finished second in season 33 with her professional partner Alan Bersten.
“While I still like it and don’t like it’s a chore, and I still feel good, that’s what I’m fighting right now,” she continued. “I love doing it. I love doing social media, swimming week and acting, so I wish I could go back in a few years and I thought, ‘I can’t wait to work hard.’
But Maher knows that participating in the Olympics is not just a sport.
She told US Weekly Only in December 2024. “The Olympics are about getting medals for my team, getting medals for our program so that we can continue to develop a plan so that young girls can dream of becoming an Olympian and playing rugby in the United States, which is pressure.”
Since returning home in Paris, Maher has used his platform as a role model, becoming a champion of human body image and being inclusive on the court and on the wild. She is like everything else she does, she revealed in May that she has been writing memoirs since 2022.
“I was like, ‘I have nothing to write about’,” she told the guest Mamrie Hart In an episode of her “Maher House” podcast. “‘What am I going to write?’ Then one day, I opened a cut guy…I was at home and I just started typing and realizing that you sometimes realize that there are so many more words.”
“There are a lot of interesting stories to share,” she continued. “So it’s so cool to write and vent to some extent.”
