Nick Kyrgios Arguing with hecklers and tearing up the rulebook on Australian Open return

Special Ks – Kyrgios and company Thanasi Kokkinakis——Lost to fellow Australian in first round doubles 6-4, 4-6, 7-6((4) AO Jason Kubler and Mark Polmans.

Kyrgios performed his signature pyrotechnics during the entertaining 2 hours and 47 minutes of action at the Kia Arena.

The man who won the 2022 AO doubles title with Kokkinakis served under his arm, snapped his racquet and verbally argued with a heckler, “You paid your fucking money to come see me, bro.”

After the game, Kyrgios unleashed the let rule, questioning why players couldn’t challenge the let rule like other callers.

“How can you review a ball hit over the net but not a serve over the net?” Kyrgios said at the post-match press conference. “It doesn’t make any sense. That’s why I’m angry.”

“Like, we’re playing for millions of dollars. We’re all injured and trying to get into this. Some of these rules are just so, so, so stupid. They don’t make sense.

“Yeah, so how can you not review a handicap? How can you not review it? How can you not just watch the ball go over the net? How stupid that sounds.”
