Russia says several military aircraft caught fire after alleged mass Ukrainian drone attack: Report

Russia – Ukraine War Update: Russia reportedly said on Sunday that several of its planes caught fire after allegedly “massive” Ukrainian drone attacks. Russia said Ukrainian drone attacks targeted four of its air bases. Moscow also said that in the ongoing war between the two countries, 40 Russian planes were reportedly targeted by one of Kiev’s largest operations.

The Russian Ministry of Defense telegrammed to Weibo platform that drone attacks targeted the following areas:

  • Murmansk
  • Irkutsk
  • Ivanovo
  • Ruizan
  • Amur

Russia-The latest escalation in the Ukrainian war began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 on the eve of a scheduled peace negotiation between the two sides.

The news comes as a growing uncertainty between the two sides along with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on June 2 with Russian officials in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump urged the two sides to end their conflict, warning that if they did not. The U.S. president has called Putin “crazy” in the past and at a televised conference held in the Oval Office in the White House in February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called it “crazy.”
