MOSCOW (AP) – Derailed late Saturday in western Russia after the bridge that local officials called it “illegal interference”. At least some passengers were injured, officials said.
The train walked out of tracks in the Bryansk region of Russia on its way from Moscow, the Russian capital, to Krimov in the western part of the country. It said the bridge was “damaged by illegal intervention in transport operations” without elaboration.
Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz said some passengers were injured but did not provide further details.
“Emergency services and government officials are working on the spot,” he said. “Everything is being done to provide all the necessary assistance to the victims.”
