Seed-to-sale tracking came to New York Marijuana in December

Regulators said Monday that after years of ic-and-false starts, seed-to-sale tracking will be in December of New York’s $1.5 billion marijuana market.
According to a September 22 Office of Marijuana Management (OCM) announcement, all New York operators must use the system, with all inventory marked with all inventory two days ago.
According to OCM, the main deadlines include:
- On November 7, when the METRC credentials begin, the operator can start ordering the ID tag.
- On November 21, enterprises can start inputting key information into METRC.
- December 5, when the lab uploads the test product results.
- December 15, when all inventory must be marked in metrc.
- On December 17, when all licensees must enter the system.
New York launched a cannabis sale in December 2022 after the twists and turns of litigation and bureaucracy began.
However, New York market openings have no seed-to-sale track system compared to other markets.
Observers and regulators have accused the lack of oversight such as the core “dirty secrets” of the ongoing diversion and reversal of the problem.
Supporters say illegal marijuana will be more difficult to sell in New York stores with normal tracks and track systems.
New York missed several self-imposed deadlines to start tracking.
Recently, seed-to-sale tracking was supposed to start in August.
When New York-selected supplier Biotrack announced on August 5, New York-selected supplier Biotrack sold its government contract to industry leader Metrc, which was last-minute kibosh.
With New York, headquartered in Rockland, Florida, contracts with authorized track systems in 30 states.
The system is not without critics.
In the ongoing lawsuit, the company’s former executive vice president claimed that despite METRC, the transfer continued.
