Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori once again thrilled their home fans in Turin on Tuesday, sealing a semi-final spot at the Nitto ATP Finals with another fine win.
The Italians continued their winning streak in the season finale with a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory over Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. After defeating top seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool in the opener, Borelli and Valvasoli’s victory in one hour and 35 minutes ensured their place in the knockout rounds – a year after they failed in the round-robin stage on their debut.

The turning point came in a tense first set. Serving for the match at 4-4, Turin native Valvasoli withstood three break points in a row and then lit up the Inalpi Arena with a fierce backhand return winner in the tie-break, pushing them to a decisive 4/2 lead they would not relinquish.
The Peter Fleming group is currently unbeaten at 2-0 and has won all four sets, with Borelli and Vavassori facing defending champions Kevin Kravitz and Tim Puiz in Thursday’s final round-robin match. With the victory, they also improved to 3-2 in the Lexus ATP Head2Head series against Granollers and Zeballos.
The Italian duo have a 37-20 record this year, building on an impressive 2025 season that featured wins in Adelaide, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Washington, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
