Sloane Stephens Announces Split from Husband Jozy Altidore – Tennis Now

Sloane Stephens and football star husband Jozy Altidore Going through a divorce.

Stephens, the 2017 U.S. Open champion, announced on social media that the couple was ending their four-year marriage and had filed for divorce.

“Jozy and I have decided to end our marriage,” Stephens posted on Instagram Stories. “I will move through this transition peacefully and with mutual respect and ask for privacy during this time.

“Thank you for your love, understanding and continued support.”

Stephens, 32, and Altidore got engaged in 2019. The former couple are childhood friends and met at Boca Prep High School in Florida.

Last season left a chronic foot injury Stephens Run hard without feeling pain.

Last month at Melbourne Park, Stephens once again performed well and entered the main draw of the Australian Open through qualifying.

A year ago, Stephens endured a career-worst 13-game losing streak in 2024-2025, including a first-round loss to No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka at AO in January 2025 when she tried to play through an injury.

Stephens, currently ranked No. 775, is expected to rebuild his ranking this spring.

“Yeah! How shocking is that?” Stephens told Flashscore she is on a three-game winning streak at AO for the first time since 2024. “I feel like it’s pretty good. It’s fun when you win three games and the game hasn’t even started yet. I’m happy with where I’m at.

“Obviously, there’s still a long way to go since I’m in a protected ranking, but I feel like there’s still a lot of good tennis left. That’s exciting for me.”

Despite the injury, she has been instrumental in the recovery process. Stephens served as a tennis television analyst for TNT’s French Open coverage and also worked at the Tennis Channel.
