Small Business Roadshow on Saturday UK, visiting 23 towns and cities this fall

Small businesses’ national roadshow on Saturday will return this fall, visiting 23 towns in the UK to celebrate the impact of local entrepreneurs and encourage communities to support small companies.
The roadshow (called the Tour) launched in Scotland in early November will open in Lossiemouth, Aberdeenshire and Edinburgh before it spreads across the UK. Sites include Belfast, Manchester, Durham, Preston, Carlisle, Derby, Grimsby, Wexham, Hereford, Newport, Plymouth, Salisbury, Salsbury, Cambridge and London.
With BT’s support, the program will focus on local companies, from bakers and chocolate companies to cycling adventure companies and shoe repair businesses, and recognize their contribution to the local economy, job creation and community.
Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business on Saturday, said: “Small Business Saturday is to advocate for incredible entrepreneurs who bring passion, innovation and heart to communities throughout the UK. This trip gives us the opportunity to set foot on the road and interact directly with favorite small businesses in the country, celebrating the unique and important stories they play in realizing the local economy.”
In its 13th year, the event is a grassroots non-commercial initiative that encourages shoppers to go to “shop locally.” Last year, it generated billions of pounds of spending and millions of consumers nationwide. Small businesses this year will be held on December 6 and are supported by American Express.
In line with the roadshow, the event will also provide entrepreneurs with free online support for one month, including daily workshops, mentoring and events, including industry experts and small business leaders.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, the trip will once again cover its 3,000-mile route with electric cars, showing the green choices many small companies have made on the road with a net zero.
Chris Sims, Chief Commercial Officer of UK UK Business Company, said: “Small businesses are essential to the UK economy and providing the right support for entrepreneurs is crucial to their success. This tour provides a great platform for small businesses across the country, providing tailored advice and resources to help them grow and adapt.”
With retailers, service providers and startups, all the ongoing economic pressures face ongoing economic pressures, road show is more important than ever, indicating how small businesses remain the backbone of the UK economy.
