Snap-benguet tagged as 17 years of vision

SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet (Snap-Benguet) tagged 17Th Anniversary of July 10, 2025 at the Binga Hydropower Plant in Benguet Itogon with the theme “Snap-Benguet, 17: Drawing a New Horizon”. The event brings together local stakeholders, partners and employees to celebrate the company’s legacy and reaffirm its commitment to the future of sustainable energy.

The celebration reflects the ongoing transformation journey of Snap-Benguet from leading hydroelectric operators to emerging players of new technologies such as battery energy storage solutions (BESS). The company shares its strategic direction as part of the energy transition, emphasizing innovation and creating shared value in the communities it operates.

“We are proud of what we have achieved over the past 17 years and we are excited about everything that will be ahead,” said Joseph Yu, president and CEO of Snap. “Snap’s entry into battery energy storage is our contribution to the energy transition while ensuring we continue to deliver reliable and responsible capabilities.”

Before the celebration, employees led a variety of community-centric initiatives including blood donation drives, mental health awareness conversations in the workplace, and local cleanups.

On July 9, Snap-Benguet signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Barangay Tinongdan’s CSR project, led by Barangay Chairman Edwin Atumpag. The MOA will cover funding for special CSR projects that are aligned with SNAP’s Sustainability Program, including environment, livelihoods, health and education.

As Snap-Benguet moves forward, it remains focused on providing reliable, sustainable energy while supporting the communities it operates. “Our solid foundation in hydropower and an increasing emphasis on emerging technologies, we hope to continue to support local development and the country’s energy goals,” Mr Yu said in his speech.
