Sony will bring a welcome quality of life to the PlayStation 5. In the next PS5 system update beta, players will be able to synchronize their dual controllers with multiple hardware platforms at the same time. This means you can convert the controller from PS5 to gaming PC to your smartphone without having to re-dividing the double every time.
Up to four devices can be paired with a single controller, each device mapped to one of an action button. To switch between them, first make sure that the hardware you want to start using is ON, and then press the Controller’s PS button and the corresponding action button at the same time. Hold for three seconds, and release two buttons when you see the light bar on the controller flashing.
This is a change in which all players may not carry weight. But it’s very exciting news for those of us who do like dancing between platforms. Current beta access is limited to only invite-only lists, but Sony says it plans to launch the feature globally in the “next months.”
