All England club president Deb Jevans said plans are planned to create plans for the statue to commemorate Murray’s 150th anniversary in 2027.

“We want to have a statue of Andy Murray here (Wimbledon) and we are working closely with him and his team,” Jevans told Ainslie + Ainslie Performance People Podcast.

“It is ambitious that we will reveal it on the 150th anniversary of our first championship (1877). He must be involved correctly and he and his team will.”

Wimbledon erected a statue of Perry in 1984 to commemorate the first anniversary of his three Wimbledon men’s singles championships. Perry has been an important part of British fans’ pilgrimage every year, winning a total of eight major titles.

Murray retired last year and will be a champions player for the first time since 2004.

“Now that he is retired, we’re very focused on how we embrace him and in the long run, he’s a part of the club.”
