The driver fired a fire, and the crash had a criminal history in a crowd attack at a Los Angeles nightclub, police said

A man suspected of driving a car into a crowd waiting to enter a nightclub in Los Angeles, with 36 injured people having a criminal history, including a conviction for felony assault, officials said Sunday.
Fernando Ramirez, who was identified by police as 29, was later attacked by bystanders after the crash in East Hollywood earlier Saturday, and later found him shot dead. Police are still searching for a suspicious shooter, described as a man wearing a blue Dodgers jacket.
Ramirez of San Clemente, California, is recovering and is expected to face felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He could not be contacted to comment, and it is not known whether he has a lawyer.
Police Captain Ben Fernandes told KNBC-TV on Sunday that Ramirez was sentenced in June 2019 for assaulting a man outside a Whole Foods grocery store. He was on parole when the crash occurred on Saturday, but it is unclear whether it was related to the 2019 attack or another case.
According to KNBC, Ramirez has at least 11 criminal cases, ranging from misdemeanor to felony crimes. In January 2022, he was charged with felony domestic battery and did not plead guilty. The case remains open.
Fire Captain Adam Vangerpen said Saturday that a group of people were waiting to enter the Hollywood event venue in Vermont at around 2 a.m. local time, when they were attacked by Nissan cars and they also hit food vending machines and valet stalls.
Police said Sunday that at least 36 people were treated for fractures and tears, including fractures and tears.
It is not clear whether Ramirez was shot before or after the crash.
