The new secretary-general of the International Civil Defense Organization is elected

According to Azerbaijan News Agency (APA), the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) has been held in Baku
Colonel Arguj Kalantarli, head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was unanimously elected to the post.
Kalantarli delivered a speech highlighting the “humanitarian disaster” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, noting that Palestine is a member of the ICDO.
“Food, water, medicine, shelter, these are no longer just basic rights,” he said, adding that Palestinians “loves are sliding on our fingers”.
ICDO is an intergovernmental organization that helps countries develop systems to help protect populations, property and the environment from natural or man-made disasters and conflicts.
Candidates of the organization’s four member states – Azerbaijan, Serbia, Burkina Faso and Tunisia – are running for the post.
