The Prime Minister marked the company’s first electric SUV “E-Vitara” and opened a lithium-ion battery factory in Hansalpur, Gujarat. The plant launches 750,000 cars every year.

He stressed that electronic Vitala will not only provide services to Indian customers, but will also be exported to more than 100 countries.

Bhargava added: “E-Vitara will not only serve Indian customers, but will also be exported globally. Gujarat will become a global manufacturing hub under the “Indian manufacturer, becoming a global manufacturing hub under the vision of the world.”

Rahul Bharti, senior executive of Maruti Suzuki, responded to this view, calling India an important milestone in its journey to self-reliance.

“We are building premium battery electric vehicles for more than 100 global markets. Meanwhile, our subsidiary, TDSG lithium-ion battery Gujarat Private Limited, has achieved deep localization – from battery packs to battery packs, now electrode manufacturing.”

He added that it was an exciting time for the company to watch young engineering students and skilled colleagues show their work in front of the Prime Minister at the Hansalpur plant.

The company also confirmed that E-Vitara will be manufactured only in Gujarat as part of the unit’s global production strategy. The SUV will be launched in several markets in the upcoming fiscal year, although pricing and exact release schedules are yet to be disclosed.
