Tiafoe has a $30,000 grant (now tennis

Tiafoe, on behalf of his foundation, awarded a junior and outstanding tennis student-athlete to the University of Louisville Russell Lokko, a $30,000 scholarship received over two years through the Frances Tiafoe Fund of his foundation.

The award will cover the scholarship gap for Lokko when continuing education in Louisville.

Tiafoe received the ATP’s Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award in 2020, and he launched the Foundation Frances Tiafoe Fund in 2023 with USTA.

According to the ATP, Tiafoe said, “It’s so good, and I’m so happy to get it out.” It’s important to see how ecstatic he is to be able to take care of his junior and senior career. [Being] I’ve been in that seat with the Immigration Son and I know what’s going on. ”

“I’m so excited. Frances gave me a check,” Lokko said via ATP. “It will make my parents a lot and help me focus on what I want to do in college.”

“Growing up, Francis has been my role model. People like me, we don’t see people like us around the game often, so it’s inspiring to have this role model and believe you can do it yourself.”

Lokko grew up on NJTL in Trenton, a member of a community organization of the USTA Foundation, NJTL network Snyder is composed of more than 270 organizations nationwide that use tennis and education to prepare young people in underresourced communities to meet the challenges and opportunities of life.

During his time in Cincinnati, Lokko competed in Tiafoe’s professional football match and sat in Tiafoe’s player box in Saturday’s first round victory in Cincinnati.
