Ben Askren Health Update: UFC fighter “death 4 times” during the battle of pneumonia
UFC fighter and former Olympic wrestler Ben Askren After suffering from severe pneumonia, the update is being shared.
On July 9, 40-year-old Aksren filmed a video on his hospital bed and shared on Instagram that he had “death four times” and had a double lung transplant after he became seriously ill.
Askren’s wife, Amyfirst revealed that he was hospitalized in early June due to pneumonia and “fighting”.
“I don’t remember anything from May 28 to July 2. No memories. I don’t know what happened.” “I just read my wife’s diary. It’s like a movie. It’s ridiculous.”
Askren quipped, “I only died four times,” adding, “The stocks were stopped for about 20 seconds.”
The mixed martial arts artist is now in a state of restoration after undergoing a double lung transplant, however, noting that he had lost weight while he was hospitalized.
“[I’m] 147 lbs. He shared that I haven’t had 147 pounds since I was 15. In 45 days, I lost 50 pounds. ”
Askren described last month as “almost like I’m going to have my own funeral”, noting how touched he was with his support, which he and his family received last month.
“What is most influential for me is my love for everyone,” he said. “You hear all these people’s memories, how much they like you, how much they love you. It’s amazing that the influx of love in the wrestling community is. It feels so good.”
Askren summarized the video by sharing his hopes to finally give a detailed look at what happened during his month-long hospital stay.
Askren’s wife Amy revealed his health fears for the first time via Facebook on June 7. “He had severe pneumonia and it happened suddenly. He is currently in the hospital and is unable to respond to anything at the moment. We welcome all prayers for healing and peace. We are working to keep our current children alive as normal as possible and try to support them, so please avoid discussions with them.”
Two days later, Amy urged her friends and followers to “continue to pray for it.”
Askren and Amy shared three children, including Alex, 12, and Andi, 9, and Son Ozi, 7.
