Trump threatens tariffs on EU 50 PCs, fines Apple 25%

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 50% tax on all import taxes in the EU and a 25% tariff on all import taxes on Apple products unless an iPhone is imposed in the United States of America.

“The threat reflects Trump's ability to undermine the global economy through the outbreak of typing, and the reality that his tariffs have not yet reached the trade deal he is seeking or the trade deals in the domestic manufacturing industry he promised,” the relevant media reported.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the Republican president said he wanted to charge higher import taxes on EU goods than China.

Trump is upset by the lack of progress in trade talks with the EU, which proposes to lower tariffs to zero, although the president has publicly insisted on maintaining a 10% benchmark tax on most imports.

“We have discussions with them everywhere!” Trump posted the Truth Social.

“So I recommend 50% tariffs on the European Union starting from 1 June 2025. If the product is built or manufactured in the United States, there is no tariff.”
The post was previously a threat to import taxes to Apple's plan to continue making iPhones in Asia.

Apple is now joining Amazon, Walmart and other major companies in the White House Crosshairs as they try to cope with the uncertainty and inflationary pressures released by his tariffs.

“I told Tim Cook a long time ago Apple I hope that the iPhones they will be sold in the US will be made in the US instead of India or anywhere else,” Trump wrote.
“If this is not the case, Apple has to pay at least 25% tariffs to the United States.”

At the heart of Trump's argument against the EU, the United States has committed a “completely unacceptable” trade deficit with 27 member states.

Countries will operate trade deficits when importing goods exceeds their exports.
