Todd and Julie Chrisley reveal the struggles and life in prison

Reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley There is a lot to say about their previous incarceration.

Chrisleys were released on May 28, 2025 President Donald Trump The day before. The two were initially sentenced to 19 years in prison for being convicted of federal fraud charges and hiding their wealth in tax authorities. The two reported to the prison in January 2023 respectively. They continue to maintain their innocence.

Since their release, the two have been talking outspoken about the life behind the man.

Here is what Todd and Julie Chrisley say about spending 28 months in prison.

Prison “disgustingly dirty” and “terrible”

In an interview on December 8 Chris Cuomo Cuomo Todd shows that the conditions at the federal prison camp Pensacola are “disgustingly dirty.”

“The food is outdated, at least it’s outdated,” he explained. “These men are getting–I don’t know–they get 1,000 calories a day. ”

“You have mice and there are squirrels in the storage facility where the food is located,” Todd added. “They just covered it with plastic and then tore the ceiling apart from all the black molds and found a dead cat on the ceiling and then dropped on top of the food.”

Julie, who also had a “terrible” experience in prison, also explained on July 1 of the “Unlock” podcast on July 1.

“I am [in] “In a satellite camp at Federal Medical Center, the satellite camp accommodates all custody. I especially don’t have one, but it’s right next door,” Julie said.

They are connected to faith

At a press conference after his release, Todd joked that he had “Bop Glow.” He then elaborated on how he spent time in prison, including deepening the Christian faith.

“Now that I’m out, I can actually use more products,” he explained. “I have nothing but reading and exercising. [and] Chase Gleason. I can contact Julie every day. …Maybe all the remaining Botox is not worn out. ”

Reunion is overwhelming

Todd and Julie were finally able to reconnect two years after being released on May 28.

“It’s overwhelming,” Todd said at the time. “Julie has been with me for over 30 years. She’s my best friend. We raised our kids together. We’ve had all the ups and downs. We’ve been through breast cancer together, and it’s great to go home.”

In the episode of the July 1 “Unlock” podcast by daughter Savannah, Todd revealed that he made good friends behind the bar. When he arrived at his room the first day, “all of these things were lying on my bed.”

“I’ve read you [were] He had to take it for free because then you had to give up something, I was too old to fight all of these people.

Gig told Todd that he was told to take care of the reality TV star in the prison. “I said, ‘Well, I can take care of myself.’ He said, “I have no doubt…but I still have to do what I want to do. ” Since then, Jig and I have become the best partners. ”

Julie also managed to make friends in prison. In the same podcast, she revealed that the first woman she met told her that she would “hate” life there.

“I walked into the door and I was bombed,” Julie said. “I walked into the door and someone was there to tell me where to go. I didn’t know at the time, but a girl took me to the room and gave me a bed – a beautiful bed, actually – she became my bed later.”

She added: “It’s very overwhelming because people keep coming in and I’m new and people know who I am. It’s really overwhelming during my first few days.”
