Tracking stock: This Navratna PSU bag offers orders of Rs 243 crore from Bihar government

According to stock exchange filings, India’s state-owned company Railtel Corporation has received work orders worth Rs 243 crore from the state project director of the Bihar Educational Projects Commission.

This work order is to provide a “Student Kit” for Level 1 students in Bihar Public Schools.

According to the exchange application, the order must be fulfilled by August 14, 2025.

On June 4, the company received an order worth Rs 274,400 crore from the Maharashtra Automobile Department. It has been designed, implemented, operated and maintained on various black spots/weak attractions in the Vidarbha circle for 10 years. Railtel is a Navratna company.

The central government has granted Navratna status to India’s Railtel Corporation in August 2024.

Granting the status of “Navratna” often leads to delegating major powers, more operational freedom and financial autonomy, which will give these companies a huge impetus. Navratna has the autonomy to make investments up to Rs 10 billion without seeking approval from the central government.

The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) is the node department of all central public sector enterprises (CPSE) and has formulated policies regarding CPSES.
