Tropical depression Mirasol destroys northern Luzon

The state weather bureau said the tropical depression swept northern Luzon after landing in Aurora on Wednesday, forcing storm signals to span more than a dozen provinces and increasing the risk of heavy rain and flooding in the coming days.
According to the Philippines Atmosphere, Geophysical and Astronomy Services Authority (Pagasa) (Pagasa), the system has a sustained wind of 55 kilometers per hour (KPH) (KPH) with a maximum gust of 90 kph, and at most Alfonso Lista in Ifogao Province, moving to the northwest at 15 kph.
Signal 1 warning lifted in the Cagayan Valley, mountains and parts of Ilorkos, covering the Batanes of Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan in the north. Pagasa warned that the tiny threat to life and property was small, but said the risk could escalate if the cylinder intensifies.
It said Mirasol is expected to reappear in the Luzon Strait later this week, where it can strengthen to tropical storms and prompt high wind signals.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will be gustling gusts of wind on Wednesday against Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Mimaropa, Simishaya and Negros. – EDG Adrian A. Eva
