Trump says Putin “unnecessarily killed a lot of people,” Russia continues to slam drones in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched 355 drones and nine cruise missiles on Ukraine overnight, an air force spokesman told Reuters that it was a huge Salvo that made its largest drone attack on the war so far.
The Ukrainian Air Force said the Russian air attack hit the target at five locations for the third night in a row, but was not exhaustive. A 14-year-old boy was reportedly injured in the Black Sea area of ODESA. Officials said residential buildings and industrial facilities in western Ukraine were damaged.
In view of the ongoing attacks, U.S. President Donald Trump said Vladimir Putin was “absolutely crazy” in his comments on the society of truth.
“He killed a lot of people unnecessarily, and I’m not only talking about soldiers,” Trump said. “Missiles and drones were shot to Ukrainian cities for no reason.
“I kept saying he wanted all Ukraine, not just a part of it, maybe that’s right, but if he did that, it would lead to the downfall of Russia!” Trump added.
The Kremlin responded to Trump’s comments on Putin on Monday.
“We really appreciate the help of Americans and President Trump in organizing and launching this negotiation process,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Of course, at the same time, it’s a very critical moment, and of course, it’s related to the emotional overload and emotional responses of everyone.”
Odesa’s residential building was destroyed
Trump also criticized Volodomyr Zelenskyy, which read that the Ukrainian leader “had no help to his country by talking about him. Everything caused problems from his mouth, I didn’t like it, and it stopped better.”
Ukraine, the United States and other Western countries have called for a 30-day cessation of combat without preconditions to conduct peace negotiations.
The Kremlin said on Monday that Russia’s proposal for a possible peace agreement in Ukraine’s war is underway and no draft has been submitted.
Delegations from Russia and Ukraine, which exclude Putin and Zelenskyy, met in Turkey last week, but the only known specific steps towards peace appeared over the weekend, when the two countries were imprisoned by hundreds of prisoners of war.
Ukrainian Emergency Services said that in terms of Monday’s losses, Russian drone strikes caused fire and destruction in private homes in southern Russia’s state.
The Ministry of Emergency Services said a residential building covering 100 square meters was destroyed at the site of the attack in Odesa district.
Russia once again escalated its air strikes on Ukraine over the weekend, targeting more than 30 towns with missiles and drones, including the capital that celebrates Kiev Day. Ukrainian officials said the attacks caused at least twelve people, some of them children.
Regional Governor Oleh Kiper said a 14-year-old boy was injured in the attack.
The governor said in the western part of Khmelnytskyi, hundreds of kilometers from the front, the Russian attacks damaged private families and businesses, but no civilian casualties.
In northeast Ukraine, the governor of the region said Kharkiv and its suburbs were attacked by Russia and that explosions could be heard in some areas.
Russia and Ukraine exchanged 307 service personnel on the second day of the prisoner exchange on Saturday, which would be the biggest swap exchange in the three-year war between the two countries.
The governor of Central Kasgas said 25 Russian drones were neutralized overnight in the region, but added that so far, no reports of injuries or damage have been reported.
The air strike squirrel lasted six hours, Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration.
Tkachenko reported losses in an urban area but said no casualties.
Ukrainian officials said that in the war’s largest aerial attack, Russia attacked Ukrainian cities with at least 367 drones and missiles overnight on Sunday, killing at least 12 people, including three children, Ukrainian officials in the northern region.
On the ground, Russian International News Agency reported on Monday that Russian troops occupied the settlements of Volodymyrivka and Bilovody in eastern Ukraine.
Reuters was unable to verify the battlefield report immediately.
Russia controls about one-fifth of Ukrainian territory.
