Trump’s Chrisley Pardon, as critic, condemns the president’s view on the law, outrages
President Donald Trump faces fierce criticism after he decided to pardon TV shows Todd and Julie Chrisley.
Chrisleys, with theirs Chrisley knows best TV shows were sentenced to prison for fraud and tax evasion.
They were convicted in 2022 and sentenced to 12 years (Todd) and 7 years (Julie). The White House confirmed the couple’s full pardon on Tuesday.
“Your parents will be free and clean, and I hope we can do that tomorrow,” Trump said in a conversation with their children on a phone call from the Oval Office on Tuesday.
He added: “Based on my hearing, they were treated very harshly.”
The move has sparked widespread criticism.
“Trump just pardoned TV characters Todd and Julie Chrisley, who plotted to deceive Atlanta-Atrea Banks from a fraudulent $30 million loan. In Trump’s America, crime, crime is celebrated and the charges are brief,” said Harry Sisson, a democratic influencer, who, on X, called it “actual freedom.”
Sisson noted in another article that Chrisley’s pardon was also coming, and Trump also pardoned “a corrupt Virginia sheriff who bribed $75,000” (Trump called him “a great guy”), and a “convicted man who had a serious tax crime, his mom donated $1 million to Trump and campaigned for Trump.”
Sisson calls it “blatant corruption.”

She added: “Trump’s nomination for the U.S. attorney was Byrne King Parker.
“Theirs [the Chrisleys’] Daughter Savannah runs for Trump. In a 2024 speech at the RNC, she said her parents were “persecuted” for their political beliefs. ”
“I trembled and thought about what Savannah Chrisley had to do to secure these pardons for her parents,” said attorney Amee Vanderpool on X.
Democratic strategist Ally Sammarco told her followers on X.
Singer and songwriter Ricky Davila added: “The Orange felony pardoned corrupt Virginia Gov. Scott Jenkins, who was convicted of bribery and fraud, and now he pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley, who deceived the bank.
