Turbulence injured 25 passengers during delta flight, forcing the plane to land

Delta Airlines flights from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam were hit by severe unrest, sending 25 passengers to hospitals and forcing planes to Minneapolis Street. The airline said Paul International Airport.

At around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Airbus A330-900 can accommodate more than 250 people. The airport fire department met with paramedics. The airline said the 25 passengers were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

A passenger said people who did not wear seat belts were thrown around the cabin.

“They hit the ceiling and then fell to the ground,” Leann Clement-Nash told ABC News. “The cart also hit the ceiling and fell to the ground and people were injured. It happened several times, so it was really scary.”

“We thank all those involved for their support,” Delta said in a statement.

Onboard turbulence has little serious damage, but scientists say they may become more common as climate change changes jet streams.

A man was killed in May 2024 when Singapore Airlines attacked severe unrest, the first person to die in decades due to the destruction of major airlines.
