Michigan recalls marijuana vape cartridges containing MCT

Michigan Marijuana Regulator is reviewing more vape cartridges containing potentially unsafe diluents medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil.
According to an announcement released on August 27, the Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency (CRA) is recalling 5,765 Kushy Punch Vape Carts made by the exclusive brand of Ann Arbor.
The agency banned the use of MCT oil in VAPE in October and has since made several recalls.
These include over 26,000 car city Cannacarts and Ripz-branded Vape Carts, made earlier this month by Warren’s Sky Cannabis.
Narmin Jarrous, chief development officer of exclusive brands, told Detroit Free Press in an emailed statement that each batch of kushy Punch pineapple jealous Vapes were tested and passed the state’s compliance standards before they were released for sale.
“We believe there is no rule or regulation in the production or distribution of the product that is not undermined.”
“The CRA’s recent decision to recall these products was not based on any violation of existing compliance agreements.
“Because of the transfer method of CRA, which is now considered a fully compliant and safe product, is being tagged.”
According to the CRA, consumers who purchase Kushy Punch Vapes between January 23 and May 12 should check this link and compare their purchases to the Metrc tag number to determine if they are part of the recall.
Many product recalls across the country are too slow to recover products that have been sold and consumed for a long time.
