UD starts selling IZO-based light trucks in Malaysia

Japanese truck manufacturer UD Trucks Corporation announced that it has launched a new Kuzer light truck for use in the international market, with Malaysia being the first to receive the model. Next year, the new Kuzer light truck will be launched in other markets in the region.

The new Kuzer is based on Isuzu’s N Series (ELF) light truck range, and the two companies have strengthened integration after acquiring UD trucks from Volvo Trucks in 2021 at Fifty U.S. In Malaysia, the two companies have been working together since 2023.

The new Kuzer can use 7.5 ton and 8.5 ton GVWS in Malaysia and has reduced chassis weight to provide additional payload capacity. Keeping the Kuser design of the base UD truck, powered by Isuzu’s 4HK1-TC 5.2L engine. It features standard advanced features including ABS, EBD, ASR, SRS airbags and LED headlights, as well as standard safety features including holder, central locking and remote keyless entry.
