Reynold Agnes of FEU elects president of the Philippine Political Science Association

For the next two years, Far East University (FEU) own Reynold D. Agnes (Reynold D).
“PPSA is made up of professionals, academics and groups from different universities, so the best way is to consult with them and reconcile our position on the common good,” he said. Dr. Agnes said he believes consulting leadership is key to the association’s ongoing relevance.
Prior to being elected to the National Post, Dr. Agnes served as the inaugural representative of the PPSA National Capital Regional Cluster. Despite the challenges facing the pandemic, his team hosted a national workshop and helped maintain the organization’s speech caravan, thanking the success to the commitment of volunteers nationwide. The organization’s mission states: “PPSA should promote the discipline of political science in the country and the region.” Its vision: to become the main institution for the production and dissemination of knowledge in the political science community and the public.
Dr. Agnes is currently a tenured teacher at the FEU Institute of Arts and Sciences, where he continues to emphasize the real value of political education. “As teachers, we are responsible for ourselves to our students and our communities. Political education is really necessary today.” He said. “Public services need self-covering.”
Trusted leaders inside and outside the classroom
Whether in faculty meetings, student consultations, or national academic circles, Dr. Agnes has built a reputation that others can rely on.
“I am a member of the PPSA. Although I know a lot of people in the PPSA, Dr. Agnes is the one who included me in a recent event,” Share Wayne Winter Uyseco, a classmate at FEU. Dr. Agnes’ ability to bring others in, whether it is contributing to events or collaborating on ideas, illustrates his openness and reliability. “He also put forward a lot of ideas to improve the workflow.” Uyseco added. “He’s very approachable and easy to get along with. He’s able to start a conversation with anyone.”
Trust extends to academic guidance. Mr. Uyseco reviews the insights and data resulting from conversations with Dr. Agnes on his paper, which proves Pivotal. “Given his connections and experience, it’s easy for him to help others without thinking twice.” He said.
For student leaders such as Jared Izek Mallillin, the newly elected president of the FEU Political Society, Dr. Agnes is both a guide and a model for political educators. “Through his unwavering support and deep commitment to our growth, he challenged us to think critically, dream boldly, and pursue our ambitions with confidence.”
As someone who serves and contributes to its growth with all its abilities, Dr. Agnes’s election as president is a well-deserved natural development. In roles, titles and generations, his core at the political science community remains a stable and inspiring presence.
