Plaid tells Starmer

Leading plaid Cymru politicians called on the Prime Minister to “no delay” in the Gaza conflict. Israeli government approved the Israeli government.

Rhun Ap Iorwerth and Liz Saville Roberts said Sir Keir Starmer’s government needs “moral courage” when the United Nations warns the masses across Gaza.

Starmer said there was an urgent need for Israel to change its route and allowed Gaza aid.

The Israeli government dismissed a statement from Britain and 27 other countries earlier this week, which called for an immediate end to the war.

The letter said to Sir Kyle Starmer and Foreign Minister David Lammy that “history will judge” politicians who have not done everything they can to stop the development of Gaza.

The prime minister said he will hold an emergency call with France and Germany on Friday to discuss measures that can be taken to “stop the killings and promote food that people desperately need.”

He added: “We all agree with Israel’s urgent need to change its route and allow urgently needed aid to enter Gaza without delay.”

Grid leader AP Iorwerth and the party’s Westminster leader Saville Roberts said the sanctions must include a complete arms embargo and said they were deeply frustrated that “the British government’s contract did not follow its words”.

Earlier this week, Foreign Secretary David Lammy called the situation in Gaza “geeky” and promised further action should be taken if no changes in behavior were seen from Israel.

The lattice leaders urged the British government to put pressure on other foreign powers to enable “emergency and powerful action” and called for Palestine to be recognized as a state.

This week, more than 100 international aid groups warned that the massive hunger in Gaza blamed Israel’s “siege” on food trucks carrying aid.

Meanwhile, at least 1,054 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since May 27.

Israel said on Wednesday the United Nations and other agencies collected 150 food trucks in Gaza, with another 800 waiting to collect – but aid workers said Israel has hindered them from doing so.

Israel and the United States say the system is necessary to stop Hamas from stealing aid, a system not yet recognized by the United Nations.

Elsewhere, Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr labor MP Steve Witherden and Cymru MPS are among 57 politicians who wrote to cabinet politicians calling for weapons on Israel and exporting what military departments abroad.
