Bublik blows up 21 A’s and saves two breakout points he faces, he beats the French Qualifiers Valentin Royer 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) in today’s Hangzhou Open final.

The 28-year-old Bublik joined Taylor Fritz, just the second to win the ATP Championship with surrender throughout the tournament.

“I honestly always say that victory doesn’t get me through the roof, and losses don’t get me in trouble,” Bubic said. “I’m trying to stay steady. I love my job.

“I’m so happy to be able to travel, compete and stay healthy and win is coming…it’s beautiful.”

It was both a beautiful and successful season for Bublik, who won the victory by beating then-World Jannik Sinner in June. Bublik collected his eighth championship and won it for the first time in the outdoor hard court.

In his semi-finals and final wins, Bubic hit 40 aces, facing only two breakthrough points in total.

“He was incredible, I didn’t expect it,” Bubic said of Roye, who beat Colendin Muttert in the all-league semifinals. “He got close to that level during the game and he surpassed the game. He performed well and I really had to serve and do my best to win.

“I beat and played some amazing shots throughout the game and I only won a few points.”

Bublik raises his 2025 record to 31-17, up to 16th place ATP live ranking.
