Vampire Lestat press conference

IO9 was invited to a press conference during San Diego Comic Fair Vampire LestatAMC’s latest Anne Rice immortal universe series. And don’t distort it, this is not Vampire interview Season 3; It’s the official performance of Lestat as he brings the microphone to tell his own story and imposes some misunderstandings on himself and his past, that is, until they rise from the dead or awakening…
Star Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt) joined Jacob Anderson (Louis de Pointe du Lac), Eric Bogosian (Daniel Molloy) and the show’s creative team to break down the SDCC panel’s warm announcement and teasing. Fans of the show will recall the second season of that season Vampire interview Ending with a settlement between Lestat and Louis, but if Daniel Molloy actually published his book, their honeymoon phase is likely to be short-lived.
It refrigerated Louis and Lestate in a separation process with the attorney. “We’re in the era of divorce.” Reed smiled. “this [Interview With The Vampire] Books are still a big obstacle. Neither of them read the book by the end of season two, so there are obviously consequences. ”
Anderson jumped in: “The scene you saw in the trailer was pissed. I won’t talk about the whole scene too much, but I was a little shocked afterwards…I was like, ‘What am I doing?’ I feel like we have to do something different in that scene than before.”
Reid continued, “Yes, you have two seasons of history and have had a lot of experience before and now there is the weight that exists between the two characters we continue in each scene, so it’s really fun to be deeper and deeper. It’s really fun. These two characters can get along with those two characters. [who] It kind of really burned each other’s houses and rebuilt them into neighborhoods, just let someone come in with the demolition crew and do it again. ”
And there is someone who is the book by Danny Boy Molloy. Molloy recruited him to record Lestat’s return on musical aspects through the words and music of the Boy Prince in the visual medium. Yes, there will be a lot of songs about the consequences of Louis breaking up with them.
“It’s a love for him throughout his life. How could he not be influenced by Louis in his songwriting?” Composer and music director Daniel Hart revealed that he said he had musical influence from Led Zeppelin to Robert Plant, even jazz, and even modern music. “I think it’s something to say, and I think I can say that he wrote songs in season 3, especially songs about Louis. You’ll know they’re songs about Louis. There are other songs about many other topics. Lestat had a lot of thoughts and feelings. But when we started writing songs, I found that what we found was the most useful thing to avoid using music, which is the scope of avoiding music. The plot in their lyrics.”
Showrunner Rolin Jones elaborates on all this as Lestat is experiencing an identity crisis between “performing vampire and actual vampire” and explains that in the events of the first episode, Lestat begins to question everything.
“The artist’s portrait has a little portrait, throw yourself there, right? [and] Open him to a dangerous, exciting, very, very terrible level of introspection village The situation here. I think he’s going after something really really big, I think he’s throwing it away, does that mean to end it? have no idea. Does this mean he is trying to reach the other end? What does all this show? What is this desire for limbs? This thing inside him opened everything up. ”
And since Akasha’s blood has been confirmed to be inside him, a question is raised whether the desire for the unknown is what might drive him. We don’t know who is playing the damn queen, their first vampire. Jones said an offer was made to the actress, but she has not disclosed it yet. But whether Reid’s influence on Akasha plays a role in Lestat’s reputation.
“With Akasha’s blood, he feels invincible? Basically, yes, I’ll say that, yes, [a] fault. I think he blinded his eyes at the power he has. I think it’s like an important key [about Lestat] He isn’t really cute when you have so much power because it feels like “If I show all the power, people are afraid of me.” It’s a big dynamic [him and Louis] and [he] Hiding in Louis, he felt that he could not be truly loved and then eventually caused his own disastrousness. And, if you feel invincible, why not jump into concrete first and see what happens? I think this is the crux of him. This is where we started this season. ”
Vampire Lestat Return on AMC in 2026.
