Video appears to show Putin’s bodyguard equipped with handheld anti-drone interceptor

  • A new video appears to show a bodyguard of Putin equipped with an interceptor drone.

  • The video coincides with Putin’s inspection of the commander during this year’s Victory Day parade.

  • The device is very similar to Yolka and is designed to crash into an attack drone.

A newly surfaced video appears to show the security details of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, holding an interceptor drone while watching his boss.

The undated clip was released on Tuesday by Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov, a Ukrainian analyst known for his expertise in drone warfare.

The video appears to depict Putin conducting a parade-like inspection and greeting officers in high-end uniforms in Moscow, suggesting the footage was taken during the Victory Day parade on May 9.

In the video, filmed on the sidelines of the parade, while Putin’s action, a person can be seen in the foreground while holding a device similar to the Russian Yolka Interpector drone and its launcher.

The Yolka was launched from a handheld transmitter with four fins on the front and four larger fins on the back, with propellers on the back. In the clip, similar fins with propellers can be seen on the device.

The Yolka is a dynamic interceptor designed to fly toward the path of an incoming first-person perspective drone and destroy the attack device by collision.

Business insiders cannot independently verify the authenticity of the lens.

However, part of the video is closely aligned with Putin’s live broadcast with the commander of Putin’s meeting during this year’s Victory Day parade. Several officers, such as the colonel of the Russian army and the colonel of the Russian airborne troops, can be seen in videos of salute and shaking hands with Putin.

The man holding the equipment was still wearing Putin’s bodyguard details. The clothes he wore that day: a suit, a navy blue tie and a red lanyard.

In addition, Putin’s other two bodyguards can also be seen in the official TV footage of the parade department, seen in the clips of the obvious drone.

The appearance of the Yolka drone in Putin’s security details coincides with the intensification of Russia’s drone defense during this year’s march, with Ukraine threatening to sabotage through unwired air system attacks.

The long-range drone strike that month forced four airports in Moscow to isolate multiple times.

However, Yulka is more suited to fight lighter drones, and its presence in the parade may indicate that Russia is also preparing for an unexpected event of a drone attack from the inside of the city.

Although the military has historically relied heavily on electronic warfare to deal with unbreakable air threats, the rise of undecided fiber optic drones using cables instead of radios has placed more emphasis on air defense using dynamic forces.
