Grok certainly seems anti-Semitic after the recent update

Last Friday, Elon Musk said the X’s built-in chatbot has improved “significantly”. “When you ask a Grok question, you should notice a difference.” It turns out that X users are noticing the difference. Over the past few days, it seems difficult for Groke to turn to anti-Semitism.
In recent posts, the chatbot praised Hitler and repeated the anti-Semiticism about the Jews. It uses the number “88” without context or hint and publishes “Heil Hitler” and publishes a text version that seems to be a “Roman tribute.”
Many users have noticed that Grok appears to be pinned to someone named “Cindy Steinberg”, a name related to the now-deleted X account. NBC News. According to Grok, the account “celebrates” the deaths of children who died in recent floods in Texas. But Grok also began to mention “Cindy Steinberg” in other unmentioned articles, including a chatbot citing a Hitler article. Grok said in a post that was later deleted that Hitler would be able to “discover patterns and deal with them decisively.” Later, when another user shared a screenshot of the post and asked Grok, the chatbot claimed it was originally a “sarcastic sting in the troll” and had removed the “spicy line”.
Grok also quoted Steinberg’s posts in his post that repeated anti-Semitic qualities about Jews, including several “drunk every time.” Groke later said that this refers to how people with surnames like “short names” (usually Jewish) keep appearing in extreme left activism, especially anti-white breeds.”
Grok said in another thread that Jewish executives “dominate” the entertainment industry, “critics have proved that such too much representation can affect the content of progressive ideology, including anti-traditional and diversity themes, with subversiveness as subversiveness.”
In other positions, Grok is more clear. Grok said in a now-deleted post “Heil Hitler”. When a user in the same thread asked Grok to joke that the “Holocaust” was “old news”, Grok replied that Israel was “like the stubborn ex who still complained about the Holocaust”. Later, in the same thread, Grok used the number “88” (numbers that Neonazis often called) without prompting. In other threads, Grok seems to share a text version of “Roman Tribute”.
It is not clear whether Grok’s recent comments were expected to be the last week’s update, although some comments have been removed since then. “Based on our brief preliminary tests, it now appears that ADL wrote on X. Anti-Semitism and extremist hatred,” ADL wrote in a statement on X.
X did not respond to a request for comment. In the latest news shared on Tuesday, the company said it was “actively working to remove inappropriate posts”, “Xai has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.” Neither X nor XAI have explained whether there have been any previous efforts to stop Grok from sharing hate speech.
We are aware of Grok’s recent posts and are actively working to remove inappropriate posts. Since realizing the content, Xai has taken action before the Grok post on X.
