Chinese government documents show new cars could sweep international markets – that’s what we know
New hybrid vehicles from China could change the balance of the global electric car race and save drivers on pumps.
According to CNEV Post, Chinese government documents reveal that Geely Galaxy is adding a plug-in hybrid called the A7.
CNEV Post cited social media content, speculating that the car could provide impressive fuel economy, with an estimated need for less than three liters of gas per 100 km, even if the battery is low. That’s about 78 miles per gallon without giving up space or speed.
The publication notes that the five-seater sedan can also be charged and filled in single to solve ranges of up to 2,100 kilometers. That was about 1300 miles.
The car is now in China’s final regulatory review phase: a government catalog of public feedback. Once removed, it will be approved for sale.
Built in Guiyang in Guiyang, the A7 uses lithium phosphate (LFP) batteries, a common type in EVS that can be better maintained under heat and heavy use. These batteries help make the car more durable during daily traffic and longer travel.

Under the hood, it carries a 1.5-liter engine, supported by an 82 kW electric motor and at a speed of 190 km/h (or about 118 mph).
This model is part of Geely’s growing EV drive. Its Galaxy lineup was launched last year and has exceeded 1 million cumulative sales, according to CNEV Post. These include the new Star 8 hybrid, which ordered 10,000 orders in the first six days on the market.
Why is this important for everyday drivers? Because such hybrids can reduce air pollution while allowing people to relax their ownership of EVs, especially in areas where charging infrastructure is not high.
Despite the pollution of battery production, electric cars on the planet are still better than fuel-consuming equivalents.
