We have to be compared with the courage of Issa Amro
Issa Amro’s article is both devastating and disastrous (I told the truth about the West Bank and was threatened and beaten. Now, I rely on you to act on June 3). His illegal acts of Israeli settlers and the courage of the State of Israel is inspiring.
If people without protection dare to speak out and threaten for decades of their own lives and for loved ones, our government certainly has the responsibility to act, not just to give condemnation. These words still don’t call shocking behaviors, such as starving civilian genocide, but decades of policy and violence against Palestinian ethnic cleansing.
Our governments have the right to do something, but they still provide weapons and support to countries that violate international law.
We all feel numb to reports of the number of innocent people murdered (although this is not the case) that we have to rely on the knowledge we are not doing enough. We must protest, tell ourselves which companies are accomplices and boycott them. I am ashamed of my voting for this government. I was shocked, disgusted and shocked.
