“We will make five more efforts on decade progress:” Manohar Lal Khattar’s Vision to 2047’s Viksit Bharat

Manohar Lal Khatter’s Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs outlined the Modi government’s vision for 2047 on Tuesday.

He highlighted the significant progress the government has made in economic and infrastructure development over the past decade.

“The Modi government has completed 11 years and it will take us 22 years to achieve these goals with the goal set. By 2047, our goal is Viksit Bharat, and in the coming years we will make progress in the past decade, the progress we will make in the past decade. The power sector plays a crucial role in promoting all sectors.”

Earlier in the commemoration of the occasion, the Alliance Government also released a detailed introduction to comprehensive e-books for various departments over the past 11 years. 2025 marks the 11th year of the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The book says that these 11 years have been committed to proposing inclusive, progressive and sustainable development. It added: “The government under Prime Minister Modi has been firmly committed to creating equity and opportunities for all citizens.” It wrote: “Prime Minister Modi has brought the developed politics into the mainstream, which makes it the focus around political discourse and policy actions now.”

Meanwhile, Hatal noted, highlighting the growth of the power sector: “If I talk about these numbers, the peak demand for electricity was 130 gigawatts in 2013-14, and in 2024-25, it reached 250 gigawatts, almost twice. We expect peak demand to reach 270 gigawatts in 2025-26.”

The union minister also announced a pioneering plan to standardize air conditioning temperatures.

“As for air conditioning standards, a new regulation will be implemented soon. The temperature standardization of the ACS will be set between 20°C and 28°C, which means we will not be able to cool below 20°C or above 28°C. This is a first-time experiment designed to standardize the temperature settings.”

This is after the ongoing heat wave situation across the country.
