Weather update: IMD forecast, rainfall in Telangana, Himaal Karnataka; heat waves in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh; yellow alarms in Delhi

The Ministry of Meteorology of India (IMD) shared weather updates in different parts of India. The weather office predicts rainfall in some parts of the country while sending out heat wave alerts elsewhere.

Delhi Weather News

IMD issued a yellow alert in Delhi this week for rain and thunderstorms. Today, on May 1, the maximum temperature is expected to be about 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be about 26 degrees Celsius.

Rain, thunderstorm in Karnataka until May 6

Several districts, including Bengaluru rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Tumkur, Davangere, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Bellary, Chitradurga, and Mandya, will experience rain as a result of a cyclonic circuit that formed in the Bay of Bengal and is heading towards Karnataka and according to IMD, Tamil Nadu.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected in these areas until May 6.

On the other hand, light rain is also expected in Bangalore City, Bella Gawai, Dhawad, Vidal, etc.

Telangana Weather Update

According to the IMD Hyderabad Centre, the isolated area of ​​Telangana is expected to rain to moderate in remote areas in the next five days.

Mulugu, Bhadri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, Warangal Gusts. The weather office also issued yellow alerts in these places.

It's raining in Himaal Pradesh

Due to new interferences to the western Himalayas from May 2, IMD predicts mild rainfall in several areas of Himalaya from May 1 to May 3.

Shimla also issued a yellow alarm for thunderstorms, gusts and lightning.

Weather in Rajasthan and Gujarat

Parts of southern India, Gujarat and Rajasthan will continue to experience hot conditions. The IMD urges residents and farmers to maintain local alerts and take appropriate safety measures.

Meanwhile, according to IMD, the weather in April 2025 forms a sharp contrast. This month is the 50th dry April in the country since 1901. But there is a lot of rainfall in southern and central India. The southern peninsula region has seen the fifth highest rainfall in April since 1901 and since 2001, while central India is the 28th place in April.

Temperatures continue to rise this month. India's highest daily temperature is the 8th highest ever in April, while the lowest temperature ranks 9th. Most parts of Northwest, Central and Northeast India have normal daily temperatures, with some parts of the Peninsula and Eastern regions avoiding the worst heat.
