Weather update (September 2): Orange alarm in gurugram; schools closed, heavy rain in North Gore, Punjab and other areas closed

A large amount of rain is expected to take place in Gurugram on Tuesday, September 2. The Gurugram Regional Disaster Management Agency (DDMA) has released a consulting service urging people to work from home and directed schools to conduct online courses. The Meteorological Office issued an orange alert.
Consulting reads: “In view of the forecast, it is recommended that all corporate offices and private institutions in the area guide employees to work from home; it is recommended that all schools in the area conduct online courses on 02-09-2025”.
“Gurugram received more than 100 mm of rain between 3:00 and 7:00 PM on Monday, while the Meteorological Department issued an orange alert on September 2, 2025 – heavy rainfall is expected”.

“The regional government calls on the public to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel and adhere to all formal instructions in view of prevailing weather conditions,”
Punjab: PSDM centre is closed until September 3
The Punjab government has ordered the closure of all 43 centres related to the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) until September 3, with severe weather conditions and prevailing flooding.
Punjab Minister Aman Arora shared an article on his official “X” handle and informed of the development.
“Given the harsh weather conditions and widespread flood-like conditions, all 43 skill development centers operate in partnership with PSDM – until September 3, 2025 to ensure the safety and well-being of all stakeholders.
Earlier on September 1, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema urged the coalition government to release Rs 60 crore in pending funds to destroy severe flooding conditions in much of the state.
Tamil Nadu: IMD warns coastal areas
Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) predicts that a low-pressure area in the North Bay of Bengal will form in the next few days, and this development is expected to affect weather patterns in Tamil Nadu, mummies, Nasal Pavilion and adjacent areas.
According to the RMC, changes in wind patterns may cause moderate rainfall in isolated places in the north and southern Tamil Nadu, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal areas.
Thunderstorms are accompanied by gusts of wind and are expected to reach speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in some areas. The Meteorological Office further warned that the highest temperatures in Tamil Nadu and Puducher could reach normal levels of 3 degrees Celsius over the next five days.
The state is expected to be part of the time until September 7.
In Chennai and its suburbs, the sky may remain partially cloudy. The city may suffer from thunderstorms to moderate rainfall in isolated locations.
Uttarakhand: Heavy rain ruins normal life
Heavy rains ruined normal life in Khatima City, Uttarakhand Uttarakhand. Downpours over the past three days have flooded the low-lying areas, causing severe traffic and bushes.
The city also witnessed heavy rain this morning. Floods enter houses in low-lying areas of the city. The morning’s office visitors had great difficulties due to heavy rain and roaring traffic.

Delhi: Traffic stopping near Loha PUL
Authorities in Delhi directed that traffic and public movement near Loha PUL will cease at 5pm on Tuesday after the Yamuna River crossed the danger of 205.33m, as it will be at 205.33m after heavy rain in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The order is in response to flood consultations from the Central Water Commission (CWC).
The Shahadala local policing judge announced restrictions, warning that the water level of the old railway bridge (ORB) could exceed 206.50 meters.
According to the order, “As the water level of Orb (the old railway bridge of Delhi) may cross the dangerous level and may exceed 206.50 m, CWC consultation may be brought soon. Therefore, it is recommended that all department officials hereby recommend that they be strictly vigilant in their respective areas and take necessary actions in vulnerable places, such as in more vulnerable places (such as living in rivers) and in rivers.
It further said: “Police and 1&FC department staff will patrol the left and right edge embankments and maintain vigils at vulnerable points, regulators/pumps, etc. as needed.”
