Pepe joined Love Island United States Season 9, Season 7, as a personal trainer. He didn’t reveal his former career until later this season.
“I just retired. I played professional basketball for six years,” Pepe said in an episode in June. “Just retired. Gym and after-school classes are open.”
Before taking up a professional player, Pepe played basketball at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California, where he averaged 18.8 points per game. After graduating from high school, Pepe attended California State University Fullerton, where he played basketball.
According to reports, after graduation, Pepe announced that he had participated in the 2021 NBA Draft, but was not selected. Although he was not selected by the NBA team, Pepe chose to play basketball internationally. He has multiple tenures in Mexico and Spain.
After Pepe quit the sport in 2023, he decided to change his career and become a fitness coach. In the same year, he opened the gymnasium Pro Gainz training. The business is still in operation.

California State University, Fullerton
Pepe was the Titans’ defender from 2017 to 2019. In his two seasons, he played a total of 9 minutes, with an average of 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 33.3 shots.
Forza Regia de Monterrey
After not choosing at the 2021 NBA Draft, Pepe joined Mexico’s Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional and participated in the 2021-2022 season of Fuerza Regia in Monterrey. According to probability, Pepe scored an average of 5.6 points and an assist. They came out while Pepe was with Fuerza Regia.
Toros de Nuevo Laredo
Pepe joined Toros de Nuevo Laredo in Torreon, Mexico in January 2022.

CD Enrique Soler Melilla
While in Mexico, Pepe joined the third-tier team in Spain’s Melilla, called CD Enrique Melilla. The athlete competed in 11 games in Melilla in the 2022-2023 season. He averaged 5 points per game, shot 33%, rebounds, assists and turnovers. Pepe retired in 2023.
