Critics slam the UN for rewarding the controversial anti-Israel Enquiry Commission, with four new positions worth up to three-quarters of a million dollars even as the world institutions suffer a severe cash crisis.
“When it comes to the spread of anti-Semitism, there are no restrictions on spending in the United Nations,” Anne Bayefsky, president of the Tullow Institute for Human Rights and the Holocaust and Human Rights Voice, told Fox News’ numbers.
On June 4, the International Commission of Inquiry, including East Jerusalem (COI), led by Navi Pillay of South Africa, announced four new vacancies to hold senior positions in Geneva. These include two P-2 level assistant interpreters, a senior P-3 level human rights official and a higher P-4 level human rights official.

In short, according to the salary scale released by the United Nations and its location-based salary multiplier (the .814 setting for Swiss employees), its salary will range from $530,000 to $704,000, which will be provided to Fox News Digital in documents provided to the Fox News Digital by diplomatic sources.
These salaries do not include other senior UN employee benefits, including child support, housing allowance or relocation costs.
Bayefsky asked why the UN “belt tight practice…is suitable for all kinds of urgent matters, but COI is exempt from, and COI is also spent.”
“COI was created to destroy the Jewish state and is now conducting itself accordingly.” She said its latest report was issued in June, “totally no,” “Israels were like the Nazis engaged in the ‘extinction’ of the Palestinians, referring to those “extreme Jews” that deny biblical history, [and] Burning for anti-Semitism by claiming that Jews de destroyed Muslim holy lands. ”

Pillay and COI have been under fire for anti-Israel sentiment. In January 2022, 42 Republicans and Democrats in Congress signed an open letter calling on the United States to return the COI. Delegates expressed concern that “Chairman Navi Pillay repeatedly and unjustly accused Israel of war crimes when he served as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014.” They said that while she condemned Israel, Pillay “reportedly different from Israel is the worst, “not free” rating in dozens of other countries.”
In October 2023, the United Nations said to a representative of the United Nations before the Third Committee of the United Nations that “there remains a deep concern about the scope and nature of the open-ended commission of inquiry established in May 2021. The COI demonstrates a special bias against Israel’s unique mechanisms that do not exist against other non-union members.”

In October 2024, a COI report ruled out information about Hamas’ use of Kamal Adwan to run the hospital, failed to describe the abuse of Israeli hostages received at the Gaza hospital, and could not “verify” the tunnel found below the al-shifa hospital “for military purposes.” Bewsky said the report trafficked blood slander.
In March, the Pillay Commission claimed that rape and sexual violence were part of the IDF’s “standard operating procedures against Palestinians.” Pillay also said that IDF’s sexual violence caused “an oppression system that undermined [Palestinians’] Right to self-determination. “In response, Bewsky called Pillay the world leader in the 2001 UN “Durban Declaration”, “Jewish state is a racist country. ”

According to the Jerusalem Post.
The UN Human Rights Commission is already experiencing the impact of the organizational mobility crisis.
In a letter written on 16 June by Volker Türk, the Human Rights Commission outlined more than a dozen reports, as well as research, regional workshops and groups authorized by the Council, which could not be completed due to insufficient resources.
Spokesman Pascal Sim responded to comments about how COI received other people, while the Human Rights Commission responded to scarcity, spokesman Pascal Sim told Fox News Digital that the Human Rights Commission’s views “are expressed only when the resolutions and decisions adopted by its 47 member states at the end of each meeting.”

SIM said whether the Council needs more staff or funds to fulfill its current workload, “UN member states are currently conducting ongoing consultations on the matter.”
At a press conference on July 1, the Secretary-General of UN Policy Secretary-General Guy Ryder updated the UN80 initiative’s reporters.
Ryder said the United Nations recognizes that “our daunting task is to unravel the bushes that we implement these decisions, resolutions and mechanisms, and we want to know if we can improve significantly.”
Ryder also admitted: “When a similar review was conducted 20 years ago, it quickly got into trouble. It didn’t produce the results that were hoped and expected at the time. We had this experience 20 years ago, and we hope we could avoid some pitfalls.”
However, Bewski said: “For decades, the United Nations has been taking measures of false costs and their actual spending surges,” she said, noting that the United States “always move on the deck chairs of the Titanic.”

Bayefsky said: “Our job is to immediately withhold the entire UN budget until the time to remove dangerous lesions is removed to terminate this sly calculus. Rejecting visas will be rejected in the coming months, which is our job.
“Contrary to popular belief, the U.S. federal hosting agreement does not require international travelers to enter the anti-Semitism flames of the United States and undermine our fundamental values and the Constitution in Central New York,” Bayefsky said. “We need a new boat, not a new deck chair.”
A budget proposal from the Trump administration leaked in April, announcing its intention to eliminate all spending to the United Nations and international organizations.

To answer questions about whether the UN decision on funding has been completed, a senior State Department official told Fox News Numbers: “President Trump is ensuring that taxpayers’ money is used wisely. Any announcements about funding from international organizations will come from the president or the administration.”
