This won't make you a better gamer, but Samsung's latest gaming monitors can appeal to those who are pursuing faster refresh rates. Samsung claims that the company's latest Odyssey OLED G6 is the world's first OLED gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 500Hz and is now available for pre-order in the Southeast Asian market and will be launched globally later this year. Samsung first announced the exhibition and its siblings and 4K resolutions called The, just before CES 2025 in January.
The monitor can be sold in the silver color scheme on Samsung's Singapore website, and costs around 1,500 Singapore dollars, or about 1,150 US dollars. The Odyssey OLED G6 is expected to see its first shipment starting May 18. For some gamers, a higher refresh rate may mean the difference between life and death in competitive first-person shooters Counterattack 2 or Valente. For the monitors used by most professional gamers, Samsung's latest products are more than twice as fast as the highlighted responsive and smoother gameplay. In addition to the groundbreaking refresh rate, the Odyssey OLED G6 has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and a response time of 0.03ms, which is smaller for motion blur and ghosts in fast-paced action games.
Like any OLED monitor, Burn-In is a serious drawback, leaving a faint impression of bright images even if the screen is blank. To solve this problem, Samsung includes its OLED Assurance+ technology, which uses cooling systems to reduce operating temperatures and detection systems that automatically reduce the brightness of static images (such as logos and taskbars). Samsung has launched its Odyssey OLED G6 for pre-orders in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia and will launch it in various countries.
