You’re more likely to win 100 Powerballs than doing what this mom did

An Apple Valley mother just born on July 7th, just 4 minutes.

Just before Nauzhae Drake, 26, sent her eldest son, she called her mother while driving to school. She told her that she saw a license plate that ended with four sevens per quarter – her lucky number. Drake’s mom takes it as a sign.

“She’s like, ‘Yeah, that’s because he’s coming that day,” Drake said. “I think, no, he’s not.”

But on July 7, 2019, Drake delivered her biggest Kewan.

Two years later, on the same date, she delivered na’zaiyla.

In 2022, on the same date, she delivered Harani.

About two weeks ago, on July 7, Drake delivered a baby boy Kailowa.

None of her babies were tempted and did not arrive on their expiration date. She said Drake felt it was “a sign of God at the moment.”

Drake is currently in nursing school and will graduate in December. She said she went through all the clinical rotations carrying Kailowa.

“They told me to stop doing it, and it’s because I’m doing a lot of things, and they’re like, ‘You’re going to get yourself to work.’ “But I ended up doing all the clinicals, all of that, I thought, ‘I’m still pregnant! ‘”

Some mothers have strategies for inducing labor – eating spicy food, exercising, and driving along bumpy roads.

For Drake, decorating the kids’ birthday party seems to solve the problem.

“I’ll make a balloon arch,” she said. “Every time I’m like two hours later, when I lie down, my water will break or start to shrink.”

Drake usually goes all out for the kids’ birthdays, rents an Airbnb house with a pool, hosts big parties, and visits to amusement parks like Sesame Square, SeaWorld and San Diego Zoo. This year’s birthday party was circus-themed, but it didn’t go as planned.

“My mother, my grandmother, was actually in the delivery room with me, because they were ready for the party, so they were wearing clown suits,” Drake said. “And I was going to the party as well until I started giving birth.”

When siblings’ birthdays roll around, some children become jealous and all their attention turns into birthday children. Drake said her kids love sharing birthdays and they are particularly excited about this year’s gift (another sibling).

“They’ve fought for him,” she said. “They’re very helpful. It’s amazing.”

So, what is the chance of this happening? You are more likely to win 100 times in the Powerball lottery than to have four children on the same date, according to Randall Swift, director of the Department of Mathematics at California State University of Technology in Pomona.

He is not four siblings, but uses instances of four independent individuals in the grocery store to perform the calculations. He said the likelihood of these random strangers is about 0.000000000056349%.

But he said that based on personal habits and health patterns, the odds for mothers to give birth on the same date may be higher.

But for Drake, the coincidence was a blessing, she said. Seven have always been Drake’s favorite numbers, but now it has a new meaning for her.

“It’s perfect, done,” she said.
