Zverev, De Minaur signed for 2026 Laver Cup – Tennis Now

Alexander Zverev, ranked fourth in the world, and Alex De Minaur, ranked sixth in the world, will represent Team Europe and Team World respectively in the ninth Laver Cup. The event will be held at London’s O2 Arena from September 25 to 27, 2026, with a star-studded line-up including Australian Open champion and world number one Carlos Alcaraz (Team Europe) and world number eight Taylor Fritz.
Zverev returns to London for his seventh career Laver Cup loss after losing to Andre Agassi’s World Team in San Francisco last year.
“I’ve always loved being a part of the Laver Cup,” Zverev said. “The atmosphere in the team is incredible and the intensity is unlike any other we’ve had all year. London is a great tennis city and The O2 is one of the most special stadiums in the world to me and has provided some unforgettable moments for this tournament. I’m delighted to be back and hopefully we can win back the title for Team Europe.”
De Minaur will be competing in his third Laver Cup match. The tireless Australian played a key role in San Francisco last year as part of Team World’s historic first championship victory in London in 2022, winning all three of Team World’s games.
“The Laver Cup is one of the most intense and exciting weeks on the calendar,” said De Minaur. “Playing in London in 2022 is a special moment for our team and San Francisco showed what this team is capable of. I loved playing under Andre last year and I’m really looking forward to returning to London with him and the team.”
Agassi said De Minaur’s influence in San Francisco reinforces why he is a key figure in the world’s teams.
“Alex is a fierce competitor and a consummate professional,” Agassi said. “The week we spent together in San Francisco made me appreciate him and everything he brings to the team even more. I’m very excited to have him back and be a part of Team World.”
