3 Panga-style boats capsized on San Diego County beach

Authorities say three people died and nine others were missing after Del Mar overturned a suspected Panga ship earlier Monday.
Coast Guard Public Affairs Officer Hunter Schnabel said the U.S. Coast Guard received a call from local authorities around 6:30 a.m., reporting that an estimated 16 people overturned the 16 on board in the north of Tory Pines State Beach.
Three were confirmed dead, and four others needed medical services. Schnabel said that nine people were not blamed. Information on personal conditions and identity has not been immediately obtained.
It is not yet known where the ship originated. Schnabel said state and federal agencies are searching the area through the air, ships and land to find others.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.
