Clip shows Thai shop hit by rocket strike instead of “Cambodia Military Post”

Footage of a building caught fire and covered with smoke shows the consequences of a rocket strike in Thailand’s West Sacket province, with claims to have destroyed Thai troops in the bloodiest military conflicts of Southeast Asian neighbors for more than a decade. AFP reporter confirmed that the video showed a convenience store attached to a gas station in a northeastern province of Thailand, close to the Cambodia border.
“At least two Cambodian military positions were destroyed by air strikes by the Royal Thai Air Force, including the brigade headquarters.”
The video shows a single-story building covered in black smoke.
As Cambodia fires rockets and shells to Thailand, the Thai military fights for F-16 jets to carry out air strikes with dramatic escalation, a long-standing dispute that is amid long-standing controversy on its 800-kilogram (500-mile) border (archived link).
Both sides accused each other of starting a fight, and battle broke out near two temples on the border.
The truce began on July 29, killing at least 43 people and displaced more than 300,000 people after five days of fierce clashes (repository link).

Reverse image searches on Google using key frames from fake shared clips resulted in the same shot posted on the Facebook page of Thailand’s Second Army area that day (archive link).
Its Thai title reads: “The BM-21 rocket on the Cambodian side hits the PTT gas station in Ban Phue, Cantalak District, West Sackett Province. Many students and civilians were injured.”

Chatchak Ratsamikaeo, a 25-year-old farmer in Sisaket Province, posted a similar clip on Facebook (archive link).
“I was about to turn my car into a station when it hit 7-11,” Ratsamikaeo said. “I was scared – my hands and feet were numb.”
